RAVEN...

The raven was sent out from the ark by Noah, when the waters of the flood were retreating from the earth, and it "went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth"...

"Just as night always follows day, black is the inevitable shade. Raven is the quintessential basic color, offering a sophisticated backdrop to all other colors", said  Leatrice Eiseman.

  • Raven is associated with death and mourning in many cultures, and suddenly it comes to my mind the famous sentence: "For whom are you in mourning, Mademoiselle? Paul Poiret asked Chanel. "Why for you, Monsieur!" she answered. But at the contrary in ancient Egypt, Raven black represented life and rebirth

  • Raven is also associated with unhappiness, sexuality,  power, elegance, sophistication, formality, evil, and  is also used in clothing to make a bold statement of mystery and self control. And "Mystery is the heart of creativity", said  Julia Cameron.

Dressing in black means simplicity of line, perfection of cut and a touch of spirit” wrote Suzy Menkes on December 12, 1983, at the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition staged by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

  • Dress in Raven if you want to become inconspicuous.
  • Raven is often used in fashion because of its slimming quality.

  • With Raven, you can easily jump from, a classic and sofisticated look, touching  a cat eye style, in to get a Gothic touch, or strong Gothic look.

There is not enough the adjectives to describe this color.

  • raven is: elegant, sophisticated, dressy, fashionable, smart, trendy, stylish, minimalist, funky, gothic, faddish, and  so on. Definitely the chicest.

Because of Black absorbs all light in the color spectrum is rarely chosen as a favorite color because it is actually the negation of the color. But to me is not only the most versatile of all color, Raven Black is my favorite one, and I love it.
